State records show that 12 additional food establishments across Central Florida were ordered to stop serving customers last week after failing health inspections. The closures, which range from temporary suspensions to extended shutdowns, add to a growing list of eateries flagged for serious violations in the region.
Inspectors cited a range of problems during the unannounced visits. Common findings included rodent activity, improper food storage temperatures, dirty food contact surfaces, and handwashing stations that were blocked or lacked soap and paper towels. In several cases, the issues were severe enough to pose an immediate risk to public health, prompting officials to suspend operations on the spot.
Some of the affected businesses were allowed to reopen within days after correcting the problems and passing a follow-up inspection. Others remained closed at the time the records were released, waiting for another review before they can resume serving food.
The closures are part of routine statewide inspection efforts meant to enforce food safety standards. Establishments that fail are typically required to fix the violations and demonstrate compliance before getting approval to reopen. Diners can check inspection histories through state records, though the latest round of shutdowns serves as a reminder that not every kitchen passes muster.
