Sixty physicians from UConn Health have been named to Connecticut Magazine's 2026 "Top Doctors" list, marking a strong showing for the state's academic medical center. The annual recognition highlights specialists across dozens of fields, from cardiology and oncology to orthopedics and neurology.
The list, compiled through a peer-review survey of thousands of licensed doctors in the state, aims to identify clinicians who demonstrate exceptional skill, experience, and patient outcomes. This year's UConn Health honorees represent both primary care and highly specialized surgical disciplines. Several of the recognized physicians also serve as faculty at the UConn School of Medicine, where they train the next generation of doctors while maintaining active clinical practices.
Dr. Andrew Agwunobi, CEO of UConn Health, noted that the number of recognized physicians reflects the institution's commitment to complex care and community health. "This recognition is a direct result of our physicians' dedication to advancing medicine while putting patients first," he said.
The list includes both long-standing leaders in their fields and newer physicians who have quickly built reputations for excellence. For patients seeking care in Connecticut, the annual rankings serve as a trusted resource for identifying top-tier medical talent close to home.
