Pelic named interim executive director of Student Health Services

Pelic has been appointed as the interim executive director of Student Health Services, stepping into a role that oversees student health initiatives across the campus. In this position, he will be responsible for guiding the department's operations and ensuring that students have access to comprehensive medical and wellness support.

Most recently, Pelic served as the executive director of psychiatric, counseling and well-being services, where he managed mental health programs and coordinated care for students facing emotional and psychological challenges. His background in both clinical leadership and strategic planning is expected to help maintain continuity within Student Health Services during this transitional period.

University officials expressed confidence in Pelic's ability to lead the team, citing his deep familiarity with the health needs of the student population and his track record of collaboration with other campus departments. The appointment comes at a time when student health services are under increased scrutiny, with many institutions working to expand access to mental health care and primary care.

Pelic will work closely with staff to address ongoing priorities, including reducing wait times for appointments and improving outreach to students who may not currently use the services. No timeline has been given for how long he will serve in the interim role.
