Laredo families looking to prepare for the upcoming school year can mark their calendars for July 15. That is the date for the annual Laredo Back-to-School Health Fair, hosted by Driscoll Health Plan. The event offers free school supplies and a range of health services to help children start the year on the right foot.
Organizers say the fair is designed to ease the financial burden on parents while promoting wellness. Attendees can expect backpacks filled with notebooks, pencils, and other essentials. Health screenings will also be available, including vision and dental checks, as well as immunizations for students who need them.
The fair runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at a location to be announced closer to the date. Driscoll Health Plan representatives will be on hand to answer questions about coverage and children's health resources. The event is open to all Laredo-area families, regardless of insurance status.
This marks another year of the health plan's commitment to supporting local communities. With rising costs for school supplies, the fair aims to give every child a fair start. Parents are encouraged to arrive early, as supplies are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. No registration is required.
